In Year 9 students continue to study a core curriculum of English/EAL, Mathematics, Humanities, Science, Health & Physical Education. They begin to explore future career directions and are exposed to a wider range of electives with fewer restrictions on choice.
To maximise the engagement and learning growth for each, students at Lalor North Secondary College participate in an Inquiry – Dynamic Learning program designed to target the Victorian Curriculum Capabilities. Students develop confidence in:

- Intercultural Capability
Students regularly link classroom learning with the real world. Students participate in many excursions, incursions, camps and inquiry-based programs throughout the year.
Accelerated learning programs and enhancement/intervention programs are available to all students.
